Describe something in your country that you are interested in IELTS cue card

The International English Language Test System, or the IELTS exam, is one of the most prominent English language certification examinations that is accepted worldwide because of its legitimacy. The IELTS exam analyzes one's capability to learn, work, and live in a nation where English is the primary language of communication. This English language proficiency test is needed for effective functioning in social and professional contexts and is evaluated on the IELTS exam.

The IELTS exam has four sections: reading test, writing test, speaking test, and listening test. In this article, we'll focus on the speaking portion of the IELTS exam. The most intricate part of the IELTS exam is the IELTS cue card section in which the examiner will allow the candidate to speak for two to three minutes on a predetermined topic followed by some questions based on the responses you gave earlier on that particular topic.

What is an IELTS cue card?

The IELTS speaking exam has a time restriction of around 14 minutes, and a crucial element of the IELTS test is the IELTS Cue Card. In the IELTS Cue Card section, the examiner will use the IELTS speaking test matrix, timing, and fluency assessments to calculate your score. This part takes about 3-4 minutes, including preparatory time. You will receive a cue card with one of the IELTS speaking topics listed on it along with certain bulletin points that you need to include in your response. You will have 2 minutes to discuss the assigned topic after having a minute to collect your thoughts.

Why are IELTS practice tests important for the IELTS cue card section?

  • You will gain confidence in speaking fluently on unfamiliar topics and coherently expressing yourself at a natural pace by using cue cards.
  • Preparing to form your answer within a minute and deliver it in another two minutes will help improve your performance on the IELTS exam day.
  • The follow-up questions that you learn require you to use an expanded array of vocabulary and grammatical structures to discuss the topic in an illustrated manner.
  • Before the test, you have to put in as much practice as you can. Recording your speeches while practicing for the IELTS speaking test and playing them back to yourself might enhance your language skills by knowing which parts you need to focus on more.

Your responses while giving the IELTS speaking test should be divided into small chunks so that your answer is conveyed clearly. Considering this method divide your answer into three parts namely the introduction, key points followed by a crisp inference.

  • What is it you’re interested in your country?

You should start your topic by introducing the subject you are interested in and state your reasons why you find it intriguing and engaging.

Engage yourself in great detail on the specific topic or facet of your nation that pulls your interest.

Try to provide the audience with powerful imagery by using in-depth explanations, illustrations, or stories.

  • How do you know about it?

You should connect the different experiences or sources that have helped you educate about this particular element you are interested in.

The topic you are discussing on can be on anything like your personal experiences, research done by scholars, or interactions with the community.

  • Why you are interested in it?

Gradually, you should discuss as to why this feature of your nation appeals to you.

Then, your focus should be on explaining why you think it is significant.

State whether it is due to its historical significance, the beauty of that particular thing or its influence on society.

  • Explain whether you would like to know more about it.

Lastly, examine your present knowledge of this topic and indicate the desire to learn more about it.

You should give a brief summary of your interest in the selected feature of your nation, highlighting its significance to you.

Affirm once again that you're willing to learn new things, and show your excitement for more research and investigation.

What do you find most interesting about your hometown?

My hometown is in Rajkot, Gujarat and what I find interesting is that it is a unique blend enriched with multi-ethnic cultures. The city has two unique genres, one is Dayro, which is a folklore recreation and the other one is Kathiyawadi, which is performed by local music ensembles. Women in Rajkot adore dressing up in traditional typical Gujarati style with loads of gold jewelry. Men in Rajkot love wearing flowy kurtas and pajamas for casual wear. Rajkot has earned the nickname Rangilu Rajkot for its enthusiasm, which means "the city full of vibrant colors”.
