How Much Does it Cost Yearly to Study in Canada?

The first question that comes to the mind of many students who want to move to Canada to pursue higher studies is what is the cost yearly to study in Canada and other country? Fortunately, studying in Canada is more affordable than several other countries. On average Indian students in Canada spend between C$20,000 and C$30,000 annually on tuition and basic maintenance.

Tuition

Depending on your field of study, you can expect to pay between $10,099 and $56,621 annually as tuition fee. Your tuition fee will be exclusive of other costs associated with attending university.

Housing

Many universities offer in-campus residences for students. That said, acceptance at a Canadian university doesn’t automatically mean you qualify for on-campus accommodation and must apply separately for a room. If you choose to live off-campus, expect to pay around $1,577 per month. Costs vary depending on the neighborhood and accommodation type. You will also be required to pay additional monthly costs for utilities such as electricity, internet, and cable TV. Contact your university’s student services or housing office to enquire whether they provide assistance with finding accommodation.

Health Insurance

International students in Canada are required to have health insurance coverage. While several provinces such as Saskatchewan, New Brunswick, Alberta, and Newfoundland have provincial healthcare plans for international students, many others including Nova Scotia, Ontario, and Manitoba require students to arrange for private insurance. For more details, talk to your visa consultant in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

Transportation

If you live nearby, you can save money on transportation by biking or walking to your campus every day. Students for whom walking to their campus is not feasible, usually use public transportation systems that include a variety of transit options such as buses, subways, and ferries. Monthly passes cost between $80 and $150 D-Vivid Consultant would be happy to help you realize your dream of studying in Canada.
