Describe a tourist attraction that very few people visit but you think is interesting : IELTS Cue Card
Fluency, pronunciation, grammar, and opinions are some of the aspects of your speech which are evaluated in your IELTS speaking test. Hence if you are aiming for a high score in your IELTS speaking test, you need to understand the format of each section and extensively practice on the IELTS speaking topics and IELTS questions. You need to practice answering the most common IELTS speaking questions and take the IELTS practice test on a regular basis. Your IELTS preparation is incomplete without a thorough understanding of the different fundamentals of the English language and its variations.
The IELTS speaking exam comprises the three sections namely general introductory interview, the Cue Card segment, and the follow-up questions. The first section's goal is to get the candidate ready for the IELTS exam. You will be asked some general questions about yourself and your subject of study in this section of the IELTS test, thus it is imperative that you prepare a succinct, basic introduction of yourself during your IELTS preparation.
The second and most crucial part of the IELTS speaking exam is the Cue Card component. You will be given a Cue Card with a topic printed on it, and you will have two minutes to discuss it. Time yourself when practicing your answers on the IELTS exam sample questions as part of your IELTS preparation. You must prepare your answers on common IELTS speaking questions which will help you understand and strategize for this section better. You must be aware of the best ways to organize your response, place an emphasis on fluidity, and clearly communicate your thoughts which require a lot of IELTS preparation.
The follow-up questions segment, which makes up the third section of the IELTS speaking test, asks you a series of follow-up questions that are based on your response to the IELTS speaking topics. Answering these IELTS questions will require you to be quick, clever and most importantly well articulated. Your IELTS exam score will soar if your comments are sufficiently compelling and thought-provoking in this area of the test, which evaluates your command of the language.
IELTS speaking questions : Describe a tourist attraction that very few people visit but you think is interesting
Name and location of the place :
My father has a knack for visiting hidden gems of places which are not commonly visited by tourists. He likes the places because they are peaceful and away from the overcrowded tourist spots commonly visited by people. One such place that we visited during our trip to the Himachal Pradesh was a lake called Rewalsar Lake, located in the heart of the mountains in the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh.
Describe the place ?
Rewalsar lake is a huge lake surrounded by mountains on all sides. There are Buddhist, Hindu and Sikh shrines all around the place depicting our Nation’s “unity in diversity”. The lake is filled with different types of fishes and it has a floating reed island in the middle of it. The place is so peaceful and calm that you can spend hours just looking at the ice capped mountains while feeding the gold fishes of the lake. We stayed at a hotel by the side of this lake for a day and it was truly one of the most peaceful days of our trip. We felt closer to nature, rejuvenated ourselves and gathered the energy for the rest of our trip.
Conclusion :
The Rewalsar lake is not a very commonly visited place among tourists who explore Himachal Pradesh. But the peace and quiet the place offers has a hypnotic effect on the people who visit it. Away from the hustle of the town, Rewalsar offers the tranquility that most of us crave for in this day and age. If I ever get an opportunity to visit the place again, I would gladly stay there for some days to absorb its hush and harmony.
IELTS speaking questions : Describe a tourist attraction that very few people visit but you think is interesting
Introduction :
A place which is not very common among tourists offers a lot of tranquility to its visitors. One such place I recently heard of is Jeju Island in South Korea. I have read a lot about this place on social media and watched its beauty on Korean dramas. It is the biggest island of South Korea and is filled with picturesque volcanic landscapes, white sand beaches and lush green forests. In other words, Jeju is a complete package for tourists.
Description of the place and its beauty :
Jeju is famous for its fascinating beaches, the hills which are covered with lush green forests and the cultural authenticity of the people. Jeju is also famous for its local products. Another popular attraction for Jeju is the k-drama shooting locations which can be visited by k-drama fans very easily. The main reason which prohibits tourists from visiting it is its unpredictable weather. The weather of this place is said to be very volatile especially during the rainy season which is why most tourists avoid it. Another common reason for tourists to avoid this beautiful place for their visit is the language constraint. In major parts of South Korea like Seoul, Bhusan and Incheon people speak in English, though not very fluently. But in Jeju it is hard to find people who speak English, hence it is difficult for people from other parts of the world to communicate during their stay in Jeju
Conclusion :
Jeju island is one of the places I definitely want to visit in the near future. I am extremely certain that it would give me the right amount of restfulness that I want from a trip abroad. The government of South Korea has allowed a special visa exemption on this part of their country to increase its tourist attraction. I am certain that Jeju will become a tourist attraction soon.

IELTS speaking test - Follow up question
Why do you think some places attract more people and some places do not ?
Answer : There are several factors that determine the popularity of a place among tourists. The first factor which determines its popularity, is its accessibility and the availability of basic amenities around the place. Another factor which majorly affects the popularity of a place among tourists is its promotion. If people know about the place, they will visit it. Another factor that affects the popularity of a place among tourists is its food and language constraints. People avoid visiting places where a variety of food is not available or where they cannot communicate properly in their language.
Do you prefer visiting places which are scarcely visited by others ?
Answer : My preference to visit a well known or unknown place depends on the purpose of my visit and the people with whom I am visiting the place. If I am going on a vacation to spend some alone time with my family, I would prefer a place which is scarcely visited by tourists to avoid the crowd and noise and get closer to nature. On the other hand, if I am going on a trip with my friends I would usually prefer a place which has an ample population and is popular among tourists.
What are the means by which the popularity of these hidden gems can be increased among tourists?
Answer : In order to increase the popularity of the less visited places among tourists, the accessibility of the place needs to be improved. There should be proper transportation available to reach the place without much hassle. The network connectivity of the place needs to be improved so that people can use their phones and the internet to stay connected with the rest of the world. Proper fooding and lodging near the place has to be available for people to visit the place without any concern.
