Even with advances in agriculture, a large number of people remain hungry. It gets harder for the people to survive without food. The next paragraphs tell the issues and their fixes.

Above all, the main source of this issue is that over the last ten years, the rate of population growth has exploded. But the production of food has not increased in any way. Then again, we can see in wealthy countries, a large amount and number of food waste is created daily by many restaurants. In actuality, a lot of goods in these nations are thrown away since they are old and not being used. Splitting the crops and food products across the nations equally might be an idealistic way to deal with this issue. Another way to do this is to donate extra or leftover food supplies to developing nations.

There are several things that can be done to solve this problem. In the first place, we ought to give our full attention to many initiatives which aims to lower poverty likewise growing access to food for minority populations. Second, focus should be given to programmes that reduce food wastes and transfer extra food to those in need. Like, food pantries can work with nearby restaurants and grocery stores to pass on the unsold food products. We can ensure that extra food is used to reduce hunger by adopting this action.

In closing, it is useful to say that a significant amount of mankind continues to suffer from various illnesses brought on by hunger even with advancements in farming practices. Thus, it is critical that everyone treats the issue of food waste seriously and pushes the government to offer the greatest resources for reducing prices and other needs.

Thoughts on the essay:

Coherence and cohesiveness were not maintained by using the proper combination of connecting words and coherent thoughts. There were grammar and tense issues. Numerous instances of improper and repetitive word usage that fall under lexical resource. There is room to employ examples to support each point of view and to organize the concepts in a logical flow.

Band 7 sample answer

There have been significant advances. in recent years in relation to agricultural technology. Still, there are issues with poverty and access to food on a global scale. There are several explanations for why this occurs.

Global population growth is a major major aspect to this issue. Natural resources that are necessary for the production of food, such water and arable land, are also strained by the growing population. One of the main causes of the ongoing poverty in the developing nations is the uneven distribution of food where a large amount of food waste is produced annually that are outdated are being thrown away. Also,  for small-scale farmers. the absence of suitable space to store for their supplies leads to crop damage from pests and unfavorable weather patterns.

Stringent laws should be imposed by the government to control population increase. Governments must also take action to reduce food waste while guaranteeing that those living in poverty have access to enough food for feeding oneself. Dividing the surplus food across the nations equally might be a good strategy to handling this issue. Another way to do this is to ship extra or leftover food and donate it to underdeveloped countries. In addition, governments have to allow the small-scale farmers to utilize storage facilities in order to prevent harvest losses and efficiently manage imbalance in the food supply.

Millions of people are affected by world hunger, but there are steps that can be taken to lessen the situation, such as cutting down on food waste, increasing nutrition, and preserving food better than before. But most significantly, awareness must be raised.

Thoughts on the essay:

Grammar, punctuation, and missing article issues. Improper usage of linking terms which is within coherence and cohesion. Lower scores in the lexical resource may result from the use of words because they are redundant or erroneous.

Band 9 sample answer

Although agricultural technology has advanced tremendously in recent years, ordinary folks continue to suffer and often perish from hunger across the globe. I will address the underlying roots of this problem and offer some feasible solutions in this piece.

Numerous social, political, and economic variables belong to the many intricate and multidimensional causes of this widespread issue. The uneven distribution of food is a major contributor to this issue. While many people in impoverished nations struggle to get enough food to survive, food waste is a significant problem in affluent nations, where substantial quantities of food are thrown away annually. Another major reason is there are not enough crops grown to feed everyone on the planet as it becoming increasingly populated every day since small-scale farmers can't afford sufficient resources to preserve their commodities, pests and adverse weather would jeopardize their crops.

Emphasis should be given to programs that minimize food waste and redistribute extra food to those in need. For instance, food banks can work with nearby restaurants and grocery stores to distribute edible but unsold food products. We may ensure that surplus food is used to combat hunger among the unprivileged people. The long-term benefits would be significantly greater if the resources were allocated for new agricultural tool distribution, improved farm infrastructure, and the sending of qualified specialists to support people in need.

In summary, the problem of world hunger is intricate and multidimensional, requiring a thorough and continuous attempt to find a solution. whilst there has been plenty of progress in the last few decades, there is still a long way to go before everyone receives the basic human right of food security.
