The International English Language Testing System referred to as IELTS is a standardized test designed to assess non-native English speakers' proficiency in the language. English language proficiency is evaluated by the IELTS exam in the areas of listening, reading, writing, and speaking. Around the world, organizations, universities, and immigration authorities see it as a reliable measure of English language proficiency.

A thorough review of the IELTS speaking test sample, memorizing the test contents, correctly comprehending the speaking question, and rehearsing responses to frequently asked speaking topics should all be part of your IELTS preparation. The secret to excelling in the IELTS speaking test is to answer your topics with confidence. IELTS cue card: An Overview

You will be given a cue card for the "Long Turn," which is the second section of the IELTS speaking test. A cue card is a small card with precise instructions or questions about the topic on it, combined with a cue or prompt. It is meant to gauge a candidate's confidence and fluency in speaking.

For this portion of the test, the examiner will hand you a task card with a topic given on it. The applicant has one minute during the preparation session to jot down brief notes to organize their ideas and thoughts. After that, they will have two or three minutes to speak nonstop, depending on the topic; the cue card's contents will act as a guide.

Before starting to learn the model answers and follow-up questions for the topic “Volunteer work experience you have had” let us consume you with some tricks and ideas on how you should speak and act during your IELTS speaking exam. Follow these tips accurately during your IELTS preparation and you will be able to excel surely.

Tips for cracking the IELTS cue card section:

  • During your IELTS exam, make your speech more fluid and regular by practicing speaking with attention to rhythm and pronunciation.
  • To make your speech more descriptive, read more and make a list of terms to add to your vocabulary. When giving a response in your speaking test use terms to demonstrate and showcase your language skills.

IELTS exam sample 1: Volunteer work experience you have had

Introduction:

I believe volunteering is important for our lives because giving back to the community may be incredibly fulfilling and pleasurable since our actions benefit the community and other people, which naturally makes us feel accomplished. I always wanted to do this sort of work and I got an incredible opportunity through one of my family members who was also a part of a big volunteer group called Animals Trust that provides food and shelter to stray animals. The community was located 5 kilometers away from my home where I had a great time taking care of and supporting neglected and abandoned animals as a volunteer at an animal shelter near my home.

Mention the reason for volunteering:

I first became involved in volunteer work after seeing personally the impact that abuse and neglect had on the animals during a visit to the shelter. Helping animals is not just a moral and ethical choice.  By assisting them, we broaden our sphere of compassion and promote a more accepting and compassionate community.  I wanted to support the animals on their journey to rehabilitation and caring homes because I was moved by their sudden need for assistance.

Explain the feeling after completing the work:

The volunteering work I did for the needy animals gave me a sense of self-worth, life pleasure, and self-confidence. My actions were benefiting to the community which naturally made me feel accomplished and proud. It was satisfying to realize that I had improved the quality of life of the animals and helped take responsibility for a brighter future for them. The experience was immensely gratifying as meeting new people and going outside of my comfort zone resulted in the acquisition of new abilities and information which improved both my personal and professional life.

Conclusion:

My positive time working at the animal shelter taught me a lot about empathy, responsibility, and the power of community. It has impacted my personal development as well as my academic and professional objectives. I want to incorporate the idea that little deeds of kindness may have a profound impact on the world into every aspect of my life, which I have learned along this journey. All in all, my time working for this program served as an excruciating reminder of the power of collaborative efforts to build a more ethical and hopeful future. The excitement of seeing an animal you've raised find an eternal home is beyond words, and it has inspired me to dedicate my life to the protection and welfare of animals.

IELTS exam sample 2: Volunteer work experience you have had

Introduction:

Everyone in their life once should do volunteer work since it can improve our community and establish a stronger connection with it. A tiny act of kindness may have a significant impact on the lives of individuals, animals, and charitable organizations who are in need. Every volunteer job provides a unique set of experiences. One of the incredible experiences I had was when I got the chance to volunteer along with my friends at an NGO School called Litlle Minds located near my college. The charity provided food, education, and other basic things to underprivileged children, empowering them in the process.

Mention the reason for volunteering:

My enthusiasm for education and my conviction that it can transform lives were what drove me to volunteer at the NGO School for Children. In an attempt to provide these kids with fresh chances, I wanted to provide them with the solid educational foundation they deserved. One of the primary methods for reducing poverty in our country is through indulging in education.  Giving education to the less fortunate children of society addresses issues like unemployment, low incomes, low productivity, and other issues facing the nation.

Explain the feeling after completing the work:

I feel pleased and honored to have helped them in any way that might be useful to them down the road after volunteering as it has profoundly affected my viewpoint and professional goals. Being a part of the developmental process of those poor children was an unforgettable experience for me. I was thrilled since it allowed me to impart knowledge and entertain the innocent kids, which was very priceless. I have also gained a deep desire to work in social fields and understand how important it is to meet basic human needs before tackling larger societal issues.

Conclusion:

This volunteer work made me realize that a little helping hand can change the lives of those in need, foster a feeling of shared responsibility, and help bring about noticeable improvements.  My aspirations, both personal and professional, have been shaped by it. It has taught me that even if we can't change the world quickly, small acts of kindness and dedication may have a big influence on someone's life. I would like to remind everyone that volunteering doesn't have to take up a significant portion of your busy day or require a long-term commitment. Giving even in little ways can benefit the underprivileged while also enhancing your well-being.
