Initially, Newcastle Polytechnic was the name of the University of the University of Northumbria. The university has Three regional colleges—Raleigh College of Technology, College of Arts & Industrial Design, and Municipal College of Commerce—came together to form the University of Northumbria in 1969.

University of Northumbria Campus

Across all the University of Northumbria campus, the university now hosts 8,500 international students. The University of Northumbria campus, which is the university's main campus is located in Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear, however it has three campuses throughout the UK. The university has two sizable campuses, one in London and one in Newcastle. Newcastle upon Tyne's City Campus is split into two parts by the city's central freeway, City Campus East and West, and connected by a £4 million bridge that was officially dedicated by Lord Digby Jones, the former minister of state for trade and investment, in 2008. 

City Campus East

The Newcastle Business School (NBS), the Schools of Law, and the School of Design are located on City Campus East. One building houses NBS and Law, while the School of Design is located on the other side of a courtyard.

City Campus West

The Schools of Arts & Social Sciences, Built & Natural Environment, Computing, Engineering & Information Sciences, and Life Sciences are located on City Campus West. The University Library, Students' Union building, and Sport Central—a £31 million sports complex for community members, employees, and students—are also situated on this campus. Sport Central opened its doors in 2010.

The Coach Lane

Many departments under the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, including the Departments of Nursing, Midwifery and Health and Social Work, Education and Community Wellbeing, and Police Constable Degree Apprenticeships, are housed on the Coach Lane Campus of the University of Northumbria campus. In addition to athletic amenities like indoor courts, a fitness center, outdoor rugby and football pitches, and an all-weather floodlit pitch, Coach Lane Campus offers computer and library services.

London Campus

About 2,500 students can choose from a variety of full-time or part-time programs at the London Campus that are focused on business, computing, cyber, project management, and technology. Northumbria University is an excellent choice for Indian students. The professors are knowledgeable and supportive, and the courses are practical and engaging. The vibrant campus and friendly atmosphere made it a great place to study.

Studying at Northumbria University was a fantastic experience. The faculty is approachable, and the academic programs are rigorous and hands-on. The diverse student community and numerous extracurricular opportunities made my time there both enriching and enjoyable.
