Pearson Language Tests or PTE is a leading computer-based English language proficiency test for non-native English professionals or students who want to study in countries where English is the primary language. It is a unit of the Pearson PLC group. PTE Academic is accepted by more than 6,000 organizations.
PTE tests include PTE Academic and PTE General. These tests are accredited by the QCA, Ofqual and administered in association with Edexccel. The Pearson Test of English Academic or PTE Academic was launched in 2009. The test is endorsed by the Graduate Management Admission Council or GMAC.

30-day PTE Academic Preparation Plan
An effective PTE Academic study plan is the foundation for success. Before starting to prepare for the PTE Academic, create a strategy. Join the best PTE coaching class in Ahmedabad with a proven track record of success. Work with your teachers to identify your weak areas. Ask friends and family members to help you track your progress. Most importantly, practice everyday.
Do you have just 4 weeks to prepare for your PTE exam? Do not be disheartened. With a concrete plan, you can still ace your test. To help you fast-track your learning, we have prepared a study plan. Take a look.
It is important to start your preparation on the right note.Overcome negative thoughts. Instead of lamenting lost opportunities, focus on coming up with a plan to make the most of your available time.
Go through the PTE exam pattern. Familiarize yourself with the question types. Take a couple of mock tests. Based on your test results, rate your speaking & writing, reading, and listening skills. Highlight areas that need improvement. This will help you identify your strengths and weaknesses.
Take two question types from every section. Try to understand how they are scored. Work on your skills. Practice read-aloud questions. Use a timer to keep count. Give yourself 40 seconds to prepare. After 40 seconds, play the recording and start speaking. With regular practice, you will get used to the format, and learn to perform under pressure.
Solve multiple-choice questions from reading. When summarizing spoken text, recall the main ideas and write a 50-70 word answer.
Take a mock test. Analyze your performance. Get feedback from your teachers and friends. Identify and learn from your mistakes.
Practice two question types from each section. Here are some question types we recommend practicing:
- Describe Image & Re-Tell Lecture – Speaking and Writing Section
- Highlight the Correct Summary and Fill in the Blanks – Listening Section
- Fill in the Blanks and Re-order Paragraphs from Reading Section
PTE test centers can be quite noisy. To get used to answering questions in a noisy environment, take a mock test in your class or a cafe. Evaluate your answers.
We recommend practicing these question types from day 14 through day 18.
- Short Questions and Summarize Written Text–Speaking and Writing
- Single Answer, Multiple Choice Questions, and Select Missing Words – Listening Section
- Fill in the Blanks from Reading Section
Take a mock test. Track your performance and improvement. Consider maintaining a journal for self-improvement.
Practice these question types from day 20 through day 24:
- Essay writing – Speaking & Writing Section
- Highlight Incorrect Words and Write From Dictation – Listening Section
Take a mock test. Track your progress. If you have been practicing regularly, you should see a great improvement in your score.
Take as many mock tests as you can. If you still have any doubts, this is the right time to get them resolved. Talk to your teachers. Ask them whether they have any last-minute preparation tips for you. Brush up your speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
Take one last mock test. When solving the paper, implement your strategy.
You have done the hard work. To keep your mind relaxed, do not try to learn anything new on the last day. Do not take mock tests. Just relax and trust your preparation. To avoid the last-minute rush, put your passport and stationery in your exam bag.
